The use of herbs for hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a condition that occurs when there is reduced function of the thyroid gland acquired or congenital nature, for example, when hypoplasia of the gland, or after radiation therapy, as well as after resection of the thyroid gland. Often hypothyroidism is secondary in nature, for example, with insufficient amount of iodine that are provided with food, or when its defective absorption, for example, with unbalanced diets, with different types of strict diets, after diarrhea and/or copious vomiting, autoimmune thyroiditis, diseases of the pituitary, etc.

Treatment of hypothyroidism should only deal with a doctor (endocrinologist) and only after establishing the cause of the disease. In severe hormonal deficiency, as a rule, appoint the appropriate years of hormone replacement therapy. In case of small violations the course of treatment is shorter in duration and may be limited to the administration of iodine-containing drugs, vitamin and mineral complexes, biologically active additives and herbal remedies, the majority of which included algae, rich in iodine and other micronutrients (laminaria digitata, fucus vesiculosus, Cystoseira bearded and others).

Treatment of hypothyroidism for a long period: Corsicana one of the teas it is recommended to continue for at least two months, and then replace it with another one, and so four or five times. Teas are prepared in the form of ground using a blender (grinder) of all the dry components, taken in equal weight parts. All carefully mix and prepare each day a new broth, pouring one tablespoon of the herbal collection 400 ml of water, bringing to a boil (preferably in a water bath) and keeping on weak fire of 7-10 minutes. Then the broth is allowed to settle for three to four hours, strain. The resulting broth should be taken on an empty stomach during the day for 3-4 reception.

In these cases, and as supportive therapy in hypothyroidism (after consultation with your doctor) also recommended to take the teas the following composition:

The leaves of fucus vesiculosus, cranberries, wild strawberries, mother and stepmother, flowers of Echinops colchicus common and chamomile, rhizome licorice, rose hips, grass of yarrow and celandine.

The herb betony, St. John’s wort, fruits of mountain ash red, and schisandra chinensis, rhizomes of Valerian, leaves of white birch and laminaria digitata (seaweed), flax seeds seed.

Herb medicinal betony, great celandine and St. John’s wort, rose hips, rhizome elecampane, radiograms pink, Quai and licorice, chamomile flowers and bezyazychny of Echinops colchicus common.

Grass tsetrarii Icelandic, celandine, wild strawberries, bean trefoil, horsetail, seeds, oats and flax seed, leaves mother and stepmother, the rhizome of Rhaponticum carthamoides.

The leaves are Cystoseira bearded, cranberries and bean trefoil, grass of greater celandine and St. John’s wort, dandelion roots and chicory, inflorescence yarrow and chamomile, fruits of dill, rose hips and black chokeberry.
